I've been really wanting to make some tassel garland. I've seen it done for weddings and parties and it's just so cute I had to make some! Here's some inspiration from Pinterest:
1. Cut fabric pieces that measure about 12''x6''. Using the fabric pen, make two marks that measure approximately 4 1/2'' into the fabric. This will leave a 3'' strip in the middle of the rectangle where the tassel will be folded.
2. Using the rotary cutter, slice strips that stop at your mark.
3. Do this on both sides so that the piece looks like this.
4. Roll the fabric into a tube.
5. Fold in half like this.
6. Use the embroidery thread to secure the tassel.
7. Cut a 1/2'' strip of matching fabric and tie around the top of the tassel, tie a double knot to secure.
8. Repeat these steps to make more tassels in whatever colors you choose.
9. String on a cord or lace like I used. I used a fat yarn needle to thread the lace through the opening of my tassels.
Can't wait for St. Patrick's day, it's finally on a Saturday so I'm gonna party! What about you?
