I've decided that I must have a bathtub shelf, and it's absolutely necessary for me to drink a glass of wine and read a book while soaking in it. This tutorial shows you how to make your own.
How awesomely delicious does everything on this table look?
I've grown fond of these flowers, the ones with the white petals and deep blue, almost black centers. I would love to know their name...
...and these cotton blossom boutonnieres are simply charming.
In an effort to improve my photography skills (which are honestly amateur), I've been trying everyday to search and anticipate moments of light. These images capture it beautifully I think.
I've been easily wooed by girly dresses lately. Anything with a collar, a pretty back, or a high waist makes me drool. All these are from ZARA.
I've been using this moisturizer from Kiehl's for about two months now, and I just love it. It doesn't have any sunscreen in it, but that's okay because my makeup does. It's really yummy.
Chris and I are seeing My Morning Jacket with Iron & Wine at the Wiltern in September, I can't wait! Here are a few of my favorite Iron & Wine songs.
I hope you're all enjoying the first week of June. Mine's been full of lunches out with Chris, a job interview, traffic jams due to Obama's visit, apartment searching, and new shoes! I'm looking forward to this weekend, Chris and I are going on a little date to finally see Moonrise Kingdom tomorrow, and then he'll be playing a gig at the Irish pub on Saturday, I'm going to try my best not to over-embibe. It should be a fun weekend! Here are a few things I'm digging this week.
This print I found via Hello Giggles. I AM a magical unicorn pony, and so are you!
Day at the beach, bulldog and baby girl, teeny-weeny polka dot bikini. Such a beautiful little family, via Rockstar Diaries.
This portrait series by photographer Benoit Paille titled Strangers. He approaches random people in the street and on the subway, and asks to take their picture. I'm in awe of all the natural light, and the focus is so crisp and sharp. With each square composition and straightforward pose, I can't help but be reminded of the work of Diane Arbus.
I was reluctant to jump on the one-piece swimsuit trend at first, when it first started popping up a year or so ago. But now that I'm 26, I'm beginning to see the effects of gravity, so the idea of a one piece is looking more and more attractive. I LOVE this one from Mod Cloth, and when I found out it was from the line by old Hollywood actress Esther Williams, I was sold.
These bold pieces by Geodora Designs. I'm so excited to have won this lovely little necklace, from Geodora, in my first blogger giveaway hosted by sponsor Peach Tea.
I don't know if your aware of this site, but if your looking for literally hours of laughs, check it out. Chris and I got to page thirty and we were in tears.
If your house was burning down, what would you take? The Burning House shares images of individuals' most beloved possessions. I loved these two because I know I would definitely save my Frye boots, and take my kitty with me too.
Have you listened to the Monsters of Folk album?
Well, if you like Bright Eyes, My Morning Jacket, or M. Ward of She and Him, then I'm pretty sure you'll be into this. All the fellas from those projects put this album together, and it's pretty awesome and has a little bit of everything. These are my favorite songs from the album.
I've been slowly working on a new layout, very slowly. So this is what a lot of my online time has been looking like lately, which explains the lack of posts this week.
I thought I'd take a break from designing and browse around for some pretty things to look at. That's what Pinterest is made for, right? Here are some of my favorites.
In love this home tour from Love Made Me Do It. The light-filled spaces and all the quirky little things it's filled with, just everything.
Prosciutto wrapped chicken fillet with asparagus and pesto sauce. The recipe appears to be written in Russian, but this looks looks like it would be worth translating.
Lovely Liz Taylor. I don't think I've ever looked this glamorous reading the paper.
I honestly can't remember where I found this (if you have any idea let me know), and I don't even know if if it's true, but it's just magical.
One of my favorite songs from My Morning Jacket. It's sweet and uplifting.
Maybe because I'm a school teacher, and I'm trained to teach the ABC's, but I just adore all numbers and letters. I especially love when they are made into objects, or removed from their context, and they become a thing of their own. All these spaces incorporate text in a really cool way, at least I think so.
