So... I'm writing to you from our new place! You'll have to excuse me, I took an unannounced, much needed break from blogging and just my computer in general this past week. It really freed me up to focus all my time on unpacking, cleaning, and making this little place a home. We've got a long, long way to go, and I'm reminded of this especially as I'm sitting in a camping chair in the living room. But I've never been so excited to start a new chapter in life. Here's what my days have been looking like around here lately.
Three lovely little succulents from my aunt, they are really loving the all-day light in our kitchen window.
Dishes and more dishes.
Thinking about where to hang all these, scared to put holes in the wall. I have a habit of changing my mind once it's nailed.
The little girl has found a handful of kitty lofts in the apartment. Why are cats so curious?
It feels good to catch up on the blog and update you all. I have lists and lists of ideas, plans and dreams and I can't wait to share them!
congrats on the new digs! that's so exciting! :) i totally know what you mean about hanging art...i have literally dozens of pieces, propped up against walls, because i have no clue where i want to put them (or if i have an idea, something's already there, and i don't know if i want to move it, and etc...). good luck!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind wishes!
DeleteLove that you are feeling more settled in. Moving is exciting, but it sure is a lot of work. Can't wait to see what you have coming up next! :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to share!
DeleteI hope you have a lovely time in your new place! I'm just trying to decide whether to move or not at the moment. Those succulents are adorable! :)

I want that lunch right now! Your cat is adorable, and I love those three little succulents! Good luck with unpacking! x
ReplyDeleteYou have such an adorable home already! I love your little plants :) I have been meaning to buy more cactus because I will be less likely to kill them >.<
ReplyDeleteMoving into a new place is SO fun and inspirational! I can't wait to see what you do.
ReplyDeleteI loved into a new house with my fiance back in January. It didn't occur to us until just recently that there's no WAY we'll get any real renovating or decorating done until after the wedding. So our walls are still bare and everything is chaos. Forgive me if I live vicariously through you until the end of August. ;)
Thank you for reading!
DeleteMay I suggest for your picture hanging,

I use them and they are awesome.
They look awesome!
Deleteuse command strips for pictures!! i see the person above has suggested them as well. my landlords don't let us put holes in our walls, so we've converted to these! pretty nifty. we haven't found a way to hang pictures in a steamy bathroom though, unfortunately. i bet it's so fun to have a blank canvas to decorate!! can't wait to have our very own place.
ReplyDeleteAhhh those sweet little succulents! And what great wall art! Its always such a hard time figuring out where to put things. I have to "live" in a room for at least a week or two, then I eventually start moving stuff around which generally means I need to change up pictures and hanging things. Maybe the plastic wall hangers with the sticky tape to the back is a good idea for the first few weeks?? Do you know what I'm talking about?

So true, it's definitely better to live in the room first. But I have to fight my impulse to hang things. I'll definitely try those sticky things!
DeleteMoving into a new place, that must be exciting! We`re hopefully doing that in October and I`m already doing plans in my head.... :)
ReplyDeleteLovely shots, I love the succulents on the first photo, the b&w effect on the second photo, lunch on the third (made me hungry), frames on the fourth and the big eye curious cat on the fifth....haha and there is no photos left :)
Anyway I wish you a lot of happy moments in your new place!
p.s. I`d love if you`d consider following my blog, I`m already ur new follower....u got me in a minute ;)
