Things I Dig

Thursday, June 7

I hope you're all enjoying the first week of June. Mine's been full of lunches out with Chris, a job interview, traffic jams due to Obama's visit, apartment searching, and new shoes! I'm looking forward to this weekend, Chris and I are going on a little date to finally see Moonrise Kingdom tomorrow, and then he'll be playing a gig at the Irish pub on Saturday, I'm going to try my best not to over-embibe. It should be a fun weekend! Here are a few things I'm digging this week.

This print I found via Hello Giggles.  I AM a magical unicorn pony, and so are you!

Genius solution for soggy pancakes and waffles.

Day at the beach, bulldog and baby girl, teeny-weeny polka dot bikini. Such a beautiful little family, via Rockstar Diaries.

This portrait series by photographer Benoit Paille titled Strangers. He approaches random people in the street and on the subway, and asks to take their picture. I'm in awe of all the natural light, and the focus is so crisp and sharp. With each square composition and straightforward pose, I can't help but be reminded of the work of Diane Arbus.

I was reluctant to jump on the one-piece swimsuit trend at first, when it first started popping up a year or so ago. But now that I'm 26, I'm beginning to see the effects of gravity, so the idea of a one piece is looking more and more attractive. I LOVE this one from Mod Cloth, and when I found out it was from the line by old Hollywood actress Esther Williams, I was sold.

These bold pieces by Geodora Designs. I'm so excited to have won this lovely little necklace, from Geodora, in my first blogger giveaway hosted by sponsor Peach Tea

I don't know if your aware of this site, but if your looking for literally hours of laughs, check it out. Chris and I got to page thirty and we were in tears.

If your house was burning down, what would you take? The Burning House shares images of individuals' most beloved possessions. I loved these two because I know I would definitely save my Frye boots, and take my kitty with me too.

Have you listened to the Monsters of Folk album?
Well, if you like Bright Eyes, My Morning Jacket, or M. Ward of She and Him, then I'm pretty sure you'll be into this. All the fellas from those projects put this album together, and it's pretty awesome and has a little bit of everything. These are my favorite songs from the album.

  7. I loved everything that you just shared.

I find hours of laughter on reddit sadly. I've spent way too much time on that site...just...looking through things,....how does..the time..pass me by!?!? I don't even know.

Anyway, I loved those portraits. The composition is perfection, just like you said. True masterful photography!!

& I LOVE MODCLOTH. I just bought shoes from them, but I had to stay away from the bathing suits because they're super expensive, but I've been digging the one-piece for its retro 1940s throwback dealio. I just loved that era.
